Preparation mode:

  • Drain the Tuny® Jumbo Tuna in Water and set aside.
  • In a pan, sauté the onion and carrot until golden.
  • Add 1 tbsp tomato sauce and the tuna; cook for 2 minutes.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and begin assembling the hearts
  • Using a heart-shaped cookie cutter, cut shapes from each dough disc.
  • With a small spoon, place the tuna filling on one heart-shaped piece. Spread evenly with a spatula and cover with another heart.
  • Moisten your hands and press the edges to seal.
  • Use a fork to reinforce the seal. Brush with beaten egg and bake at 190°C (375°F) for 10 minutes.

For 12 turnovers: 12 empanada dough discs, Filling 1 can of Tuny® Jumbo Tuna in Water, 1 tbsp tomato sauce, Chopped onion, Finely chopped carrot, Spices of your choice, Vegetable oil, 2 beaten eggs, Salt
